When I stumbled across this teaser in between loud commercials, it immediately had 100% of my attention. If I were to give the synopsis, I'd be ruining the opening scene of the entire series. And if you're like me, who did not pick up what the teaser is giving away, you're in for a thrill.

If there's not only the story to appreciate, it's Tatiana Maslany, who plays leading roles (yes, plural). She is simply incredible, a proven dynamic powerhouse actress. An underrated class act that deserves a Golden Globe, hopefully one day with an Oscar. Though camera tricks, hair and make up are important to the mix, it's how she differentiates each of the characters she plays with unique delivery. If it weren't for her, the show wouldn't be believable as it is. I've said enough at this point. Just watch and by the end, you'll understand why you'll want to stand up and clap for her.
The series is also supported by a well-rounded cast (featuring Burger King's Whiplash spokesman Kevin Hanchard, who also appeared on this year's Nikita) with intriguing, backstabbing and at times, hilarious characters. You'll no doubt have your favourites when watching through the entire series.
As of June 1st 2013, the ten episode season (aired back-to-back Saturdays at 9PM | Space channel in Canada) ended with a strong finish, one that promises more to come in the renewed Second Season (Spring 2014). If you missed out on the live airings, Orphan Black's Complete 1st Season is available to own on Blu-Ray / DVD this July (also digitally available via iTunes/Amazon for instant viewing).
Please note that this is a cable series so viewer's discretion is strongly advised.
