Lazy people

Just caught up with this episode (New Girl - "Control") on demand. Have to say I'm frustrated with it. In some ways you can say that I'm Schmidt, a germaphobe-neat-freak who does all the chores at home. I too do the majority of chores - well used to - around the house. If I was to relax and watch a movie, the living room would have to be spotless clean. Even the sight of papers would make me uncomfortable. As I grew older I realized it isn't fair that I have to do everything for everyone. Why should they take advantage of my labour when they're able to do their share of work? ( "... my group LEFT MEEEEEE!!!" anyone?)

In this episode Jess somehow converted Shmidt into a homeless care-free hippie. Nick and Winston warned her that doing so would "upset the balance", which made their apartment inhabitable. Pretty much shows how lazy the rest of the guys are when begging Shmidt to return home. Coming from Nick especially, who enunciated "self-reliance" when doing the plumbing instead of calling a plumber.

Just ticked that I come home from an overnight job to find the garbage all piled up with an unbearable toilet stench. I'd ask my family "Why didn't you guys take the garbage out?" Their answer: "Because you weren't home". Apparently my absence was a good reason to pile on more garbage, even though there's 8 of the other 9 family members at home to do the job. How they answer with shrugged arms says it all. They're no different than the people littering out there it's a no-wonder I'm reminded of how messed up life at home is whenever I'm outside. Might as well have an elephant in the room if that's their measure of poor awareness.

Guess I kinda missed the humour in this episode. O and happy Earth hour. Har har har har har ...
